Description: The Bahianus Tang is an active fish that originates from the Caribbean and Atlantic Ocean. This fish sports a gray body with blue highlights along the anal fin, dorsal fin, caudal fin, and around the peduncle spine. As a juvenile, they are solid gray, but they develop a nice, blue "teadrop" shape around the eyes when reaching adulthood. They also sport a white band on the caudal fin, along with some yellow color in the caudal fin and eye. It would make a great addition to any larger reef or FOWLR aquarium. It is important to provide ample rockwork and swimming room. Provide a varied diet that includes high-quality marine fish pellets, meaty foods, and seaweed. Algae or veggie-based foods are important for this fish's diet. Soak the pellet food with Vitamin C to help prevent disease. Tangs are prone to ectoparasites and disease, so a protein skimmer and UV sterilizer are recommended. Practice caution when mixing the Bahianus Tang with other tangs, especially other Acanthurus sp., as this fish can become territorial after it establishes itself in the tank.
